The Property Ombudsman

At the beginning of May 2009 The Ombudsman for Estate Agents was renamed The Property Ombudsman.
The new name better reflects the Ombudsman's market position, and makes it clear that issues will dealt with beyond just residential sales.
More and more agents are bringing lettings and property management into their businesses, and later this year, the Ombudsman will be including small commercial agencies and UK agents selling property abroad within his jurisdiction.
There will be no changes to CRM's membership or to the Ombudsman's procedures.

CRM renews membership with Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS)
15th April 2009
Due to changes with their insurance policy, The Dispute Service, who runs the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, is unable to offer membership to unregulated agents after 6 April 2009.
The Dispute Service is now only able to obtain cover for agents that are members of The Association of Residential Letting Agents, The National Association of Estate Agents, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The Law Society or The National Approved Letting Scheme.
Corporate Residential Management is a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and has therefore renewed its annual membership with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, and will continue to use the scheme to protect its tenants' deposits.

CRM joins Ombudsman for Estate Agents

CRM has joined The Ombudsman for Estate Agents for Residential Lettings and Property Management to demonstrate our commitment to consumer protection and customer care.
The Ombudsman for Estate Agents (OEA) Scheme was established on 1 January 1998, and from June 2006, the OEA extended its services to Lettings and Property Management agents.
By dealing with a member of OEA, the public can be confident about CRM's approach in our dealings with residential property management and lettings.
